- Do I legally need fire points on my site?
- Almost always, yes. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 places duty on the 'responsible person' (employer, event organiser, site manager) to provide appropriate fire-fighting equipment. On construction sites, the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) and HSG168 'Fire safety in construction' require suitable extinguishers at clearly-marked fire points. Campsites and events fall under the same 2005 Order plus local licensing conditions.
- How is the £1/day price calculated?
- £1 per post per day is our long-term contract rate (typically 3+ months, multiple posts). Short hires are priced per day or per week — see the rates above. Multi-post orders and long contracts unlock the lowest pricing.
- Do you service the extinguishers while they're on hire?
- Yes. All extinguishers are BAFE-serviced and within annual service date on delivery. For long-term hires we schedule the annual service and swap units in-situ so you're never out of compliance — covered in BS 5306-3 (commissioning, inspection & maintenance of portable fire extinguishers).
- Can you cover building sites, festivals and campsites with the same hire?
- Yes — we mix-and-match fire-point configurations for construction (typically water + CO₂ near electrics), event/festival (water + powder near catering & generators) and campsites (water + blanket near cooking areas). Tell us the risks and we'll spec accordingly.
